Hello. I'm 25 year old female and I'm living with my boyfriend about three years now. He is very ambitious and has big plans for us later but for now, we are very careful when it comes to kids. He is using condom almost every time and several times I have used some oral contraceptives.
The reason why I'm telling you this is because about two weeks ago some strange formation called capillary hemangioma developed on my gingiva and doctor told me that it could be cause by using oral contraceptives for too long. Does anybody know more about this?

I know some information about this condition because it is quite common condition found in pregnant women and that’s why it is often called “pregnancy tumor”.
It is also called pyogenic granuloma. Capillary hemangiomas are believed to be malignant proliferations of vascular endothelial cells.
There are several possible treatments of these hemangiomas.
You didn’t describe how big formation on your gingiva is and that might be the key of good treatment. If it is a small hemangioma then it should disappear completely on its own. Bigger hemangioma are often treated with intralesional steroids which are being injected into the tumor directly.
