Hello! I am 46; female. My husband has been diagnosed with primary cardiomyophaty. He has had high blood pressure for some time and it seems that is the cause for his condition now. I was wondering what would be a good therapy?

Hello…I think that therapy depends of what kind of cardiomyophaty he suffers. There is a dilated cardiomyophaty which is treated with anti-clotting drugs (anticoagulants). In rare cases “heart block” may develop and then peacemaker is required. In case of hyperthropic cardiomyophaty the usual treatment is a drug called beta blocker or calcium channel blockers. His doctor should determine and prescribe therapy.
