Hi, I am 49 years old male and I am suffering from cauda equina syndrome. This diagnosis gave me neurologist which I have visited last week. I had suffered from pain in my legs so I went to neurologist who made several exams and concluded that I am suffering from cauda equina syndrome. I would like to know something more about it and how it may be treated.

Hello, my father also suffers from cauda equina syndrome. He suffered from back pain and pain which radiates down the legs. Paralysis of legs is atrophic and asymmetric with weak reflexes. Also it affects sphincters. Care of these patients is specific and main goal is prevention of possible complications like thrombosis, decubitus and urinary infections.
