I started using Nuvaring about 8 months ago. After the first month, my "periods", or breakthrough bleeding, were very light and I had no cramping at all. Before I started Nuvaring, my periods were extremely heavy, long and irregular. I also had cramps so bad with my periods before Nuvaring that I would be in tears curled up in bed for the first 3 days. All of those problems went away with Nuvaring. Fast forward to about 6 months later, and all of a sudden my "period was extremely heavy with a lot of clotting. I thought maybe I just had a weird month, but I got a little worried when the next month turned out the same. I also started having pretty bad cramps again with these two periods. I just started my "period" again a few days ago, and for the third month in a row, it is extremely heavy and I have a lot of clotting. My cramps are also back again this month. I'm just wondering if this is normal? I had gotten so use to having such light periods and no cramping that I'm having a hard time dealing with the cramps again and with the unusual heaviness. I would say this month is the worst so far with how heavy it is. Within an hour, my "super" tampon is completely soaked and leaking through. I don't have very good insurance, so I don't want to go to my OBGYN if this is nothing serious. Has this happened to anyone else? Any thoughts or information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
