Childhood communication disorders-is there any help??? I work as a teacher in elementary school, mostly with 8-year-old children. I am very surprised with the fact that there are many kids with communication disorders such as hearing or speech problems. Is there a way to prevent that? It is hard to look at the persons who just started their lives and already have serious difficulties.

Communication disorders are a term that refers to problems in speech, language and hearing. Language and speech problems are caused by damaged articulation, disorders connected with voice, stuttering, aphasia (due to a brain damage, use of words is difficult) etc. On the other hand, we have partial hearing and deafness. All of these disorders can make problems in education for children. Therefore, certain steps must be make to provide those kids with all they need to learn normally. Unfortunately, in most of these cases, medical science cannot help that much, if the damage has already been made.
