Ok
I have had no real history of medical problems until now. I have always had a blocked nose and been chronically tired and I think have been somewhat susceptible to being sick. Beginning the week starting the 14th of September I started to feel ill.
I lost all energy and became incredibly lethargic from then on and have suffered the following symptoms has progressivly been getting worse ( I find it hard to describe some of the feelings I am getting) . Some of these occurred prior to this period

Overall Feeling extremely run down
Constantly tired and feeling drowsy
No energy
Lightheaded / dizzy / feeling as if I am about to feint mostly occurring when standing up but can occur when sitting down *
Scattered feeling and having weird sensations feeling removed and weird** out Feel like head is not working properly and things aren’t clear
Dull Sore/weak/aching constant sensation in legs?
Headaches,
Sore stomach,
Sore throat when waking up progressively gets better during the day
Feeling as if I had a mild fever all the time
Aches and pains in joints and other places randomly
Very sore muscles even after little or no exercise
Poor memory noticed when taking pills that I could totally not remember if I had taken them that day
Feeling that everything is uncomfortable
Irritable /agitated sometimes finding it hard to sleep despite being extremely tired
Tingling/ pins and needles sensations in random places especially feet and hands
Red legs and feet after shower?
Frequently needing to urinate
Little things such as kicking toe hurts a lot more as if were sick
Usually is at its worse in the morning after waking up.

These symptoms fluctuate minorly, but am still not able to participate in any usual daily activities even on a good day

Doctor has run many tests and has sent me to physcologist, endocrinologist, sleep study and have started taking antidepressants, to see if it is the cause.
I am almost 100% sure this is not from anything to due stress, depression etc. AM NOT A HYPOCHONDRIAC

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Wow, Peter. Thanks a heck fo a list.

Well, let's start with the first couple.....

run down/tired/drowsy - this could be the result of sleep apnea, which results in a light sleep. This could be due to congestion...have you tried the Vicks amended nose strip thingys (if my technical terms throw ya, let me know XD )....have you tried running a vaporizer while you sleep or taking an over-the-counter (OTC) allergy med - benedryl, claritin, alavert, or something else....

light headed/dizzy especially when standing....this may be positional vertigo.....solution is an OTC allergy med...it can take up to 3 weeks for this to solve the problem....

scattered feeling.... lack of sleep can cause this.....so can positional vertigo.....

headaches ...could be due to sinus congestion....need to drain your sinuses....would need to take OTC med....

sore throat when waking ....if you are congested, you are likely breathing through your mouth when you sleep so your throat is sore......

Now, all these aches and pains, irritability, tingling pains......can be associated with seasonal allergies...but not often.....many of these things could also be linked to Lyme's disease......for which you would need an anti-biotic....have you been in the "great outdoors" where you could've gotten a tick bite in early September? Now, last I spoke with my doctor about it, there are still false negatives, because the test for Lyme's disease cannot detect all the strains. This would also address the feeling of having a fever, the tingling, and very sore muscles, as well as the general feeling of tired and lack of energy.

With your having been congested for so long, you may have a full-blown sinus infection. But...your doctor would've caught something this simple. I'm "doctor Mom" in my house, and I know about this.

I'm wondering if you have more than one thing going on. There are specialists who treat people who have symptoms from more than one ailment that their general pratictioner can't seem to nail down.....your regular doctor or insurance company may be able to help you track this kind of specialist down. I suggest this possibility because my sis dated someone who had conflicting symptoms and went to one of these specialist and they found he had ruptured disks in his back and Lyme's disease. You could have seasonal allergies and Lyme's disease.

Again, I'm merely offerring ideas based upon what I've encounterd in my lifetime. Best of luck to you Peter!
Thankyou so much for your response. I have taken a sleep study and am waiting to get the results back. Positional vertigo sounds probable as i have felt having sore inner ears. THe last few days i have had the most bizzare feeling in my head. Feeling extremely dizzy/ queezy in my head as if i were about to faint its been absolutely unbearable. This makes all my thoughts wierd and i just feel very wrong ( sorry i find this hard to explain). Something else ive noted in the last few days is that any little suprise or something sends a shocking feeling through my head. Example: an apple rolled off the table and i get this feeling. I have looked at lymes disease and it could also be likely as i live bushy area and frequently visit the country, however i dont seem to have remembered having a bullseye rash which most people get ( although some dont).

Help is greatly appreciated

Peter - one more thought. The weird feeling...being "uneasy"....foggy thought processes.....all of this could be a result of light-headedness from positional vertigo...seems silly, but it can. Because of the congestion, you have toconcentrate more on regular activities...such that something unexpected can be disturbing.

Nope, you do not need to have the "bullseye" rash to have Lyme's disease....that only happens about 40% of the time. Iencourage you to get tested....

Also, I couldn't tell from your post but, if you are at or near 40....I hate to tell you, but stupid stuff like this (which is uncharacteristic up to this point in your life) starts happening with increasing frequency when you hit 40. I'm sorryto tbe the bearer of bad news.....Welcome to the club! XD

Thanks for your response. I'll ask the doctor about that next time i go. Apparently lymes disease is only in america so i doubt that wouldd be the cause.

And concerning my age, I am only 17. I eat healthy, was excersing regularly prior to this occuring. My doctor seems to be set on saying the cause is somatic depression, which i am open to however, am not sure wheter it could cause such acute physical symptoms. Any help would be appreciated.[/img]

What do you think about this actually being something like anxiety? it sounds to me like a lot of the symptoms match up. And although you don't think that you're a hypochondriac, the symptoms that you have don't seem to fit any sort of rhyme or reason, and a lot of them are just little bumps along the road that are normal. What do you think?

Perhaps try a toxicity test, e.g for heavy metal levels in your body.

What about POTS?

It sounds like you may have Chronic Fatigue or also called M.E. A doctor who is also a naturopath would be best to go to for checking this out as standard doctors often don't believe in it. All the best
