My son has suffered with chronic nausea for almost 3 years now, his nausea also started after he had the flu, he just never seemed to get better. He has gone to every doctor we can think of to find out what could be the problem, he has had many different tests done, many of the same ones that others on this site has mentioned, no one can seem to find out what the problem is. This morning my husband heard on the news that people who have taken accutane may have similar problems to what he has, my son took accutane when he was a teenager he is now 28 years old. Have others with chronic nausea also taken accutane?

I have had chronic nausea for two years now and the only thing that ALWAYS works is marijuana. It's likely many would not be open to this option, but I beg of you to at least try. Continual Acupuncture has also helped. Zofran In my opinion is a miracle pill, however I've found it is not a guaranteed fix. if I am able to get to cannabis in time, I will not throw up. I owe so much to this medicinal usage of a substance and cannot wait for my state to pass medical marijuana. I honestly feel nausea might be one of it's most beneficial medical uses

Valuim!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I swore when I solved this, I would take the time to help others.  I suffered with severe night nausea for 9 years.  Wake up in a panic, heart racing, extreme nausea that would last for hours, sometimes diarreaha if I was really bad.  I have a fear of vomiting, so basically I was in hell for 9 years.  Afraid to eat, lost 20lbs, afraid to sleep.  I had colonscopy, endoscopy, H.Polori, 1000 blood tests, and everything was normal.  I tried inhibitors, and Maalox, and Zantac, and EVERYTHING.  On another message board, I saw someone mention Valuim.  I went to my GP and asked if that could be a possibility as stomach issues are sometimes caused by stressed.  WE ARE HAVING PANIC ATTACKS!!  He tried me out for 1 month on 10mg Valuim.  I break them in half (because I dont like pills)  and lastnight I woke up with the racing heart, but immediately realized what was going on, and NO NAUSEA.  I havent had an episode since I started the valuim.  I am so sorry you are living in this hell, its worth a try!

God bless

have you tried licorice or aloe vera juice. They might help and if they help then that might give you a clue of what is going on. You have had a coloscopy when the problem was active right? so that would rule out Ulcerative colitis. You could try the Pill Camera. Have you tried any proton pump inhibitors (omeprazole, nexium). I feel you I have a problem that sounds very like yours; my problem is much worse in the morning than night though. It's not in my head, but it's causes depression/anxiety. Did you strictly follow the gluten free for a few months? Gluten can be sneakily put in some foods AND EVEN YOUR SHAMPOO having wheat/gluten could be doing it! Maybe we should try an All-natural diet and really test our allergies. Some foods seem to give me bumps on the roof of my mouth when I eat them sometimes...

Pot is highly addictive and has long term side effects, besides not being able to drive properly on it. Marijuana is fine if you are old and dying and you want that frame of mind.

Symptoms: one year of chronic nausea that got worse after eating, sometimes accompanied by sharp stomach and/or upper back pain

Tests: full blood work including liver-function tests (went to a GP, then a gastroenterologist), gastric endoscopy, and a CT scan

Solution: Librax caps (prescribed by my gastro-), which is a Benzodiazepine combined with an anticholinergic (i.e. valium-like medication combined with an anti-spasmodic)

P.S. Librax caps may take up to 2 weeks to start working

sorry this has taken a year for me to see this. I'm researching chronic nausea and found this....your symptoms remind me a lot of what someone i know had. Cannabanoid Hypermesis--a reaction to too much pot smoking. Could this be an issue? This friend of mine had vicious cycles of the toxicity building up and long, long, long bouts of stomach pain and intense vomiting. Ironically, the only relief she got was in the shower. Weird huh? But when she ceased her activity, the malady went away----totally away! Good Luck!

I'm a 20 year old female and I have been vomiting since i was about 15. I have had many tests done. My vomiting was more extreme with certain types of birth controls, and i was even tested for Low blood sugar. I Have been off of all birth controls for about 4 months and i'm still nauseous. It has gotten to the point where my mother is tired of paying medical bills for no answers. My weight is low for my age and height and it fluctuates frequently. I can never get past 110 lbs. My thyroid has been tested also with no answers. I sleep more than normal too and have been tested for Mono and Lymphoma. I have gotten to the point where it's normal for me to feel extremely sick all the time and effects my jobs. i can't have a first shift job because I'm too sick. My main problem is that I feel like i would feel better if I ate, but i'm too nauseous to eat! It's a constant battle. I've found relief in Protein shakes and fruit smoothies. I would just like to know exactly what is wrong with me so I can get it taken care of. It would be nice to live a normal life for once. If anyone has any ideas that would be amazing. I would actually like to go to my doctors with a bit of information for him to go off of.

Marijuana is the only thing that truly helps me get down food too. I can't eat if I don't smoke first. Even Nausea tablets don't do the trick and medications i've tried kill my nausea but because they make me sleep through it. Once i wake up though, I'm nauseous again.

Idk if ppl get on this anymore. But my symptoms started a year ago. The nausea always hits around 9pm. Some days it doesn't hit some days it does. It was gone for a month but came back eventually. I've not had tests done yet. Kinda scared to. But altoids peppermint helps A LOT. I stumbled across it by accident. Now i make sure i have a box where ever i go. Hope that eases some of y'all's suffering.
