I have been suffering now since august. Basically it started off I became nauseas, I couldnt eat or drink. I was just constantly sick, even after id been sick, i still felt like i need to be sick some more. After a trip to the hospital i was told it could be a stomach invection when my stomach was inflammed. " weeks passed and i was still no better, in fact i couldnt go anywhere without a bag, to be sick into. I went into hospital where i was given blood test, urne tests xrays and an ultrasound scan, however these showed nothing. I gradually started to feel a little better, well i wasnt as sick as often. Tho the feeling has not subsided. Its still there 3 months on, constant feeling of nausea. Maybe its in my mind and i struggle to let go of the inital feeling i had but its so difficult, im struggling to leave the house. I seem to feel worse when i see friends or try to go out anywhere. I get all flustered and all i can feel is sick its horrible. Has anyone else suffered with this or does anyone know whether its my mind or there is actually something not right with me? Id love to know. Unfortubalty this is stoppin g me living my life and im only 22

I had the same symptoms, I am 21 years old and had constant nausea for about a year. I saw multiple specialists and had endoscopies, etc. I had to play around with medications and see which ones worked for me. My family has a history of acid reflux and anxiety problems so the doctor started me on Lexapro, an anti-anxiety at night and Lexapro in the morning....my vomitting went away but my stomach still felt unsettled. Then, I got on birth control for horrible cramps and ever since I started it I feel like myself again. Before, I could never go out with my friends or to public places without feeling anxious about being sick but now I can do whatever I want and I finally feel like my old self. You just need to think about your family history, etc and you'll find something that works for you I promise I've been there. Good luck!!

The same thing happened to me ..only I was sick for 7 to 8 years and doctors never found the problem. They all said that my gall bladder was fine. I continued to be sick. Finally I went to a Gastroentologist, who ordered a nuclear scan to see if my gall bladder was even functioning. He found out that a normal functioning gall bladder measures greater than 30 and mine measured at 7! Needless to say I am having surgery soon and I can't wait for this hell to be over.
Good luck!

I have had stomach problems for about a year and a half now. I don't even know how to describe it other than burning. If you took hunger pangs and multiplied them by about twenty, added a burning feeling, and nausea.....that would be it. I have been to the doctor and had blood tests, urine tests, breath test, and an ultrasound, and they couldn't find the problem. So....I am left to just deal with it. Anyone have a similar problem? I am 35 and ready to rip out my own stomach....arrghhh.

i have been having similiar problems for a year now.Mine started out as nausea and shortness of breath,so i went to the doctor,he told me it was acid reflux causing my shortness of breath and that if i kept feeling nausea to come back and he would check my gall bladder.Well after just a few weeks on aciphex for the reflux my breathing went back to normal but i still felt sick alot.I had the upper gi done, doc said there was no acid buildup or infections but i had gastritis..since then i have stayed on the aciphex and while my breathing still isnt normal it is 100 times better than it was..but a few weeks ago i had my gall bladder checked and they said it wasnt functionong properly, didnt have any gall stones but they recommended removing it.Today is 12 days after my surgery and i feel terrible.Feel worse now than i did before the surgery.I am staying sick,,lost my appetite and feel so tired all the time.Im hoping this all will pass because im ready to get back to normal.I work in construction and it is killing me not being able to go back to work.I am only 25 years old married with a 3 year old daughter and i got bills

I'm 19, and since February I've been getting these spurs of nausea, stomach pains (kind like hunger, only real bad, add some tingly burning) and diarrhea on and off. I went to the doctor after 3 weeks of it, never vomiting or anything! Just this horrible nausea. I got tested for parasites, and they gave me lithocane to mix with malanta for a GI cocktail, saying I had GastroEnteritis (norovirus). It turns out i don't have a parasite, and they said I might have IBS (since my mom has it) and/or acid reflux. But the symptoms dont match up... i really dont get it. They gave me prilosec but it didn't really help the nausea at all... I might have them... but that still doesnt make the nausea go away!!
I need some answer. My dad says its because indoors all the time (artist/student) and should get out more. But this is hardly mental... but i cant get the nausea out of my mind or gut!

I have the same thing periodically and usually for about 4 months each year. I am constantly nauseous and can't eat and live on toast only.
I work shift work and can't go into the staff room at meal times because the smell of people heating up their meals makes the nausea 5 times worse.
I do have 7 gallstones which have been there for 12 years now but I never get associated pain or the typical symptoms.
I also have Multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, depression, high blood pressure and reflux which i have never had an issue with since starting somac. I hate it!

:-( I have the same thing. I have had nausea for about four months at a time every year for about the past three years.
I have never had the pain or any other gallstone related illness symptoms yet this is not the symptom according to doctors.
I also work shift work and can't go into the staff room at meal times because the smell of any cooked food makes me feel 100 times worse and nauseous.
It is driving me nuts!

There can be multiple causes for nausea though so bear that in mind. I had an inner ear infection that looked for all intents and purposes that looked like the same issue that you're having. I think the best thing to do is to ask your physician about seeing a specialist after your doctor runs tests. I think that because of the vague nature of nausea that you try to give your doctor as much detail as possible, and even be sure to ask for a second opinion if you feel that the doctor is rushing you. I wish you luck in your recovery, and would like to know more about it!

i was wondering if you found any answers to your problem? I've been having the same problem for about 8 months now, no vomitting, just constant nausea. Ive been to the hospital twice with no results. They keep telling me its ulcers but nothing they give me helps.

I'm a 48 year old female. Have been nauseas every day for over a year. Am on reglan 4 times a day, tigan in the morning and have even tried emetrol to get to work. Nothing has helped. Had an endoscope done a year ago and that's when nauseas started. My doctor recently put me on kapidex and for first time the nauseas has started to go away.

Im 24 and have been suffering from pretty much the same thing as you guys for the past 17 months, its ruined my life, right now i should be serving in the Royal Navy on the submarines (my dream) but instead i find myself sitting at home all day long wondering when i will get better so that i can join back up (was medically discharged for severe GI first time around)
For me it all started after picking up a stomach bug, me and 2 of my friends got it, but luckily for the other 2, theirs went away, mine just stayed
Over the 8 months it has been getting better (very slowly i might add) BUT.....over the last 4 - 6 weeks i have been feeling better than ever (few niggling problems still there, but so much easier to live with)
Being at home alot and not having a doctor that will listen to me, i decided to start trying to read up on others having similar problems and looking at possible causes. I have looked at quite a few, but i recently considered the possibility that it was caused by maybe a sinus infection, as along with the constant nausea and stomach pains, i was having constant flu like feelings (headaches above the eye, aching muscles and joints, cold and hot sweats..etc) anyway, i also realised that it was like my body was creating too much mucus, always have 1 side of my nose blocked, so then i thought maybe the mucous dripping down the back of my throat into my stomach was infected and causing my upset tummy and nausea
I went to the pharmacy and tried "vicks sinus decongestant capsules" for a few days and felt the difference straight away, it was as if the mucous at the back of my throat was alot thinner and didnt cause me to feel nauseas, its not perfect, but alot more manageable, i then went to the doctors to ask him about it and as usual the id**t wouldnt listen, wont send me for tests or nothing (least you guys have doctors that seem a little more interested in finding out the problem)
Well because he wont help me, i thought id try a few things to help myself
- if at night the air gets colder, i keep my head under the quilt so that im breathing in warmer air
- i dont eat anything minty (making the back of my throat have that cold feeling)
- i dont drink any cold drinks, all i drink in squash, but i make sure its at room temp before drinking it, rather than straight from the tap
- i keep away from dairy products (been told they dont help if your having problems with mucous)
- if i go out i make sure i wear a hat to cover above my eyes (my frontal sinuses)
And so far so good, i was feeling well enough to go to my cousins for new year which was really nice as it beat having to sit in the house feeling like c**p
Anyway of course it may not help you guys, but thought id share with you what i have found has helped me, maybe if it works we can all get back to having our lives back and all be happy again, as i know just how horrible it is to feel like this, i just hope mine dont get worse again anytime soon and that im on the road to recovery
Now its just time for me to go and pester my doctor to send me for tests, if not ill be changing doctors (again) i want this nightmare to be over with for good, rather than just to have to manage it because he is too incompetant to listen to me 8-|
