I also had this happen to me, last night and this morning. I at first thought I had diarrhea but looking into the toilet bowl, there was just clumps of jelly like substance but no stool. Can someone offer any insight?

I have read other web sites on this subject and it is a discharge of a natural gelly substance which exists in the bowel tract to ease the process of producing stools. Irritable Bowel Syndrome can cause a discharge of the jelly. It is not at all life threatening and quite common. Often associated with stress. The web pages seem to suggest a meducation called "ZELNORM" is the answer to the prblem in addition to you attempting to remove the underlying reason for the stress.

Ihave the exact same as well for about three years now. At first there was a lot of pressure and a whole lot of mucus. I'm 23 yes of age female. This is very annoying and I wish it would stop. Iv had test. Nothing. Iv bee. Online reading about it a few times this timeiv had the most info. I still don't get it though.at least it seems to be like a cleanser for my booty. im going to find out what this is once and for all, because ive also had it for a while, randomly just getting mucus coming out, sometimes without any stool,
im going to the doctor in few days to ask for a test tube so when it happens, i can get it in there and give it to him to send for testing.

I'm not one to talk about my bowels but I have noticed with me stressing I have had a jelly like mucus from my anus and I have had this for about a week so I plan to call my doctor an try to get this takin care of. Also to say I'm not having any pain or discomfort after I see my doctor and if I'm doing better i will return an I hope it's just stress

hi there.....upon researching my own problem...mucous without faeces.....I have been diagnosed with coeliac disease......(intolerance to gluten)...there are so many of us who have this problem and amazingly there is little told about it......I too find that if I indulge in things that don't help .... then I suffer.....the urge to defeacate....the pushing...the struggle....and then mucous.....Am I right in this description????...... I too adhere to a gluten free diet...but alas , I do like my wine....and that does play a part.....I try really really hard to stick to a gluten free diet...unfortuneatly very few suppliers of food are amazingling unaware of our plight......and as though I really enjoy an orange/almond friand.....please.....a little more imagination.......yes we can have a salad...etc.....but if anyone out there is aware of this problem and you have the inclination to open a cafe....gluten free.....then beleive me....you will prosper.....hoping this does help you and others....cheers....deb..
