I've recently learned that light bleeding is not necessarily just an adjustment to hormones, nor an overly deep penetration - it can in, in fact something more serious: Chlamydia, a sexually transmitted disease, can cause vaginitis. Unfortunately, most women do not have symptoms. A vaginal discharge is sometimes present with this infection but not always. More often a woman might experience light bleeding especially after intercourse. Chlamydial vaginitis is most common in young women under the age of 30 who have multiple sex partners.
Basically this says everything else can seem normal, except for the bleeding, which is a symptom of an STD. Don't freak out - it's a simple text and treatment, but to take care of it you have to be seen right away. Don't mess around when something's not quite right - trust your body to send up a warning when somethings wrong, and get it checked out! Hang in there...it can feel scary, but it's not half as bad as doing nothing, and worrying about it!

It's not due to birth control, I've been on mine for 2 years now && my body has adjusted to it. Just recently I had sex with my boyfriend (no condom) && after we finished I was spotting. I went to my gynocologist and had her do a pap smear, my results came back completely normal, no diseases what so ever. So what else could it be? Does anyone know?

i have the same problem, its very very light pink blood ,but i resently went and got a pap and got tested and everything came out to be normal so i have no clue what it could be. i havent been on the pill for months, and dont have sex very often due to painful intercourse. so if anyone can help, id appreciate it. thanks.

there is nothing to worry about if it's just light spotting and it was a result of rough sex. Sometimes, if the private areas are 'bushy', the pubic hair might cause some irritation and be the cause of spotting.the same goes for bold eagle, or recent waxing or shaving. It is important to identify first where the blood is coming from and how much. If it is a 'scratch/cut' type of spotting there is no need to run to see a gyno, but if the spotting is more then a tablespoon and a liner is still needed 12 post sexual intercourse, then it's time to make an appointment and get checked out.

I'm having the same problem the last two times I've had sex it has been very light bleeding sometime not even for the rest of the day. Me and my boyfriend don't always start with a condom but he always puts one on after a minute or so of sex. Its not rough and I have been on the pill for about 4 or 5 years. To be honest, i went through this. i went to a clinic to get checked over, i had atleast 8 tests done. mainly for sti's. it turned out i had actually had no Sti's, instead it was a small rip at the top of the inside of my vagina, from where my boyfriend was too rough in bed, and had dug so deep. my advice for it, would just to leave out the sex for atleast 4-5 days then when you have sex again, just be a little more carefull and use spit, rather than tubed lubrication such as durex, as they're not thin enough. :) but sure do get checked out by a doctor, just incase it is something more serious!.
Hope this helped out guys.

What could the possible conclusions be if you had the same concern with the pink discharge after sex and are not on any form of birth control?

I'm exactly the same with this I'm on the depo and I'm getting light bleeding after sex and I've also had a urinary infection, it might be all part of what the depo does to you

As a medical professional, I can weigh in on this. However I am not a GYN doc so still go see whoever your primary person is. That light pink discharge that looks like you just spotted a little during sex can be just that... Just spotting after rough sex, the other two options are chlamydia or bacterial bagnio sis. Both of these are treated with antibiotics and can be otherwise asymptomatic. Chlamydia can make you infertile if left untreated so get a pap ear if you even have any doubt.
