I've taken Concerta on and off for six years now. I've lost weight quickly while using this stimulant. I was diagnosed with ADHD and it has greatly improved my ability to focus. The weight loss is a side effect in some not all. YOU must speak with a physician.

I mean I used phetermine for 4 months to kick start my weight loss. It really helped me concentrate and have willpower to say no. However it made me beyond irritable. I weighed 402 lbs. The risks didnt outway the risks of me not losing weight. I am now 2 months with out meds still losing. I have lost a total of 70lbs. I know i am still fat but it gave me the temporary edge i needed to get going.

I just started taking concerta 27 mg for ADHD. I am female, 19 years old, and was diagnosed with ADHD and Bipolar 1 disorder. I also am currently taking sertraline (zoloft) for depression. I have been taking concerta for about 4 days now and it does suppress my appetite within the first 3 hours of taking it, but after that I get hungry. Even though I am hungry, I still cannot eat because when I take one bite of something it makes me feel sick and nauseated. I have been researching the appetite loss side effect, and I know I should force myself to eat, but I feel so sick after taking one bite of something. I have a friend who has been on concerta for years and still has zero appetite during the day. I am afraid that this will develop into an eating disorder of some kind because I have had problems with anorexia before. My body always reacts to the extreme when it comes to medications, and I am loving the fact that this medicine helps me focus a thousand times better. I am just nervous that I wont be able to eat because of this even though I can feel my body starving itself during the day, I cant take a bite of anything. I eat until I am full at dinner and have been eating enough then which is good. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!!
