Hi There,

Every night after I eat dinner I get a stomach. It doesn't matter what I eat, or when I eat it - I get a stomach ache. I have mild emetophobia and anxiety - could this be causing my stomach aches? They rarely happen during the day. if u could email me the reply at ************** that would be awesome. thank you for all your help and support.

Prolonged stress and anxiety can cause all sorts of physical and mental problems including stomachaches.
Some stress is good but only if it’s acute and short. The a hormone cortisol is being produced and it can make us more alert, concentrated and remember things better. This is a good example of stage freight.
But if the stress and anxiety are prolonged, high levels of cortisol in the bloodstream for a long period of time is not so good and may cause a variety of symptoms like impaired memory, learning, thinking, etc; thyroid problems, problems with blood sugar, unexplained weight gain, high blood pressure, lower immunity and other health problems.

It would be best if you could find a way to get rid of your phobias. You may try different relaxing techniques, behavioral therapy like talking with someone,,,,,,whatever makes you calm and relaxed. Otherwise, your problems may not go away.

Of course you should see a doctor to check if there’s an underlying condition that could be causing your stomachaches.

hey i also have the same problems.. i went and saw a doctors and he said it can help by using simple breathin methods.. for example breathe from your abdoman rather then you chest.. this is how it's done.. lay flat on your back and put your hands just below your belly button, breath in try and push your hands away and when you breathe out try and push your hands down onto your abdoman.. after you get the hang of it you move your hands and just do it ..if that makes sense it kinda work for me when i need to relax or calm down, its all about breathing.. if it doesn't help i'ld suggest seeing a doctor's before it gets worst :-) hope you feel better soon..

I have these really bad stomach aches that happen randomly once a month, and I do not know what causes them. All that works is Pepto. What is this and how can I prevent it?
