Hello, another guest to share their story. Its been both comforting and upsetting at the same time (no matter how odd that is) to read all of your stories.

I am like most others, 25 years old, obese (though even when I was 'lighter' I had the same issues), and this issue has been very restricting. While there is no pain most of the time, I've only had about maybe 2 months total from the past 5 years where I have NOT bled. This was started when I first started to get my period for only about a 1 month cycle and had to get a GYN and all of the good stuff at 16. For a couple of years after I had no period whatsovever. Because I was a virgin at that time of the first month cycle, to have a male GYN examine that area was rather traumatizing and honestly even now it is embarrasing to me try to attempt to have one, and it gets to the point where I break down and whichever person was going to attempt that stopped out of frustration. I'd assume that if I did get a pap smear there would be a bit more info to help my personal situation.

Like all of the other girls, I tried metformin, different hormonal pills and was given many other medical treatments (the only thing that I haven't gotten was a shot of sorts) and none have had any success.   A family friend even got me to see a specialist on PCOS and they weren't sure what was going on. Now I have no way to get checked out anymore, since I have no insurance and because of my said experience I am super scared of going to Planned Parenthood.  In actuality, the hormone pills that I was given to 'help out' ended up temporarily paralyzing me  for a few days, and since they didn't give a positive effect, I stopped taking them. It is depressing and yes I do have the same fears as noted before in this and the other topic.

Here's hoping that there will be enough of us to get more dedicated doctors and medical staff to maybe look into these sorts of symptoms more. This is terrible for everyone, but especially for the younger women here who have had their lives slowed down because of this.

I'm only 16 and I've been getting my period nonstop for over six months I've been to multiple docs and gynos and all differnt test! NOthings changed, the longest I went without it was for 10 days because they put me on a stronger pill but after that I bleed more! I have all the symptoms for menopause but that's very unlikely as I'm only young! I seriously thought I was the only One,

Hi,

I am also 18 and have been having problems with my menstrual cycle for about 2 and a half years now. I basically bleed constantly, with maybe a day or two of a break per month before my period starts up again. The color is usually a dark brown or sometimes a dark red, and only sometimes do I bleed very heavily, but I still experience a lot of fatigue and some cramping on almost a daily basis.

I went to the doctor for a pap smear and thyroid test, both of which came back normal. Also, I went to an imaging facility for an ultrasound which did not show anything out of the ordinary on my ovaries or within my uterus. My doctor basically said there was nothing I could do but go on the pill. He told me it would likely fix itself, but that was months ago and it has not gotten any better.

I was proscribed Trinessa, but after reading reviews of it online, decided not to take it due to the seemingly horrible side effects. I have been taking Vitex (Chasteberry extract) 3 times daily for months now in an effort to remedy my condition with herbal supplements rather than hormone pills, and have also bettered my diet and cut out soda and sweets, but have seen no change.

Here's hoping we all get better.

Its me again... thought i would update everyone.... I have been going to the doctor for the last 7 months every two weeks... I am anemic and i might have cancer according to the doctor (dec. 7th)  along with cysts and no progesterone??? think i spelled that right.  Anyways I am on medroxyprogesterone to shrink the cyst and hopefully reduce the bleeding which in the 1st week it was 80% less.  Also on iron pills, but they arent working, still very low.. dangerously low. doctor has me on 4 pills a day.  My wall is over 20 cm thick and the cyst is larger then that.  On the 3rd of Jan. i have a biopsy done on my wall then on the 13th i have the pleasure of having another transvaginal ultrasound.  Also i have not ovulated in over 10 months.

SOME PEOPLE THINK THAT WHEN THIS HAPPENS IT IS BECAUSE YOUR BODY THINKS IT IS PREGNANT.

ON ANOTHER NOTE, JUST READ HEAVEN IS FOR REAL.  IT ACTUALLY TOUCHED MY HEART REGARDING OUR MISCARRIED CHILDREN OUT THERE.

THE LITTLE BOY SAID THAT WHEN HE WENT TO HEAVEN THE GOD ADOPTED THE MISCARRIED CHILDREN.  I HADNT THOUGHT OF IT THAT WAY

Hi. I decided to search for what I have been going through and to my amazement i'm not alone in the world.

When I was 16 I started having irregular periods and bleeding problems and saw a doctor about it, I was refered to have a laparoscopy (may not be spelt right) to check for Endometriosis, which came back negative. I am now 22 and have not stopped bleeding for about 5 months which is the longest out of my irregular bleeding I have been through. I get very heavy dark to bright red bleeding, at least one week in the month of bleeding I get heavy cramps and giant clots. I constantly get headaches which can get so bad I can't sleep. I have been on numerous birth control pills to try control the bleeding, I've been currently taking Transexamic Acid for the bleeding which had been working and now it does nothing. I've just run out and have now got clotting pouring out of me by the palm full. I've been on Iron tablets due to low iron in my blood.

I've had many doctor visits, seen specialists and gynocologists, had many blood tests, swabs, biopsies and scans. I am overweight and have been told to bet my BMI to about 30 so I can have more tests done and to see if they can find anything. I've tried exercising and changign my food habit but I get depressed and seem to gain more than I lose.

I have been tested for STDs - Negative, Pregnancy - Negative, Cancer - Negative (ovarian and cervical) test after test after test I'm starting to feel like a mystrious lab rat.

I've been tested for Polysystic Ovarian Syndrome which looks likely, I have been told that my hormones are feeding the problem (so getting sexually heated DOES NOT help!). I can't remember the name of what they are feeding sorry. I've had benign polyps cut from me which didn't change anything. My scan showed that I have an abnormal uterus or something like that.

Would be really nice if this can all get sorted, it's interfering with my relationship. I get really moody and stressed and am sure i'm losing my hair.

Anyway thanks for sharing your stories and letting me share mine ♥

Just updating. My hormones were feeding Fibroids which were enhancing the bleeding, so everytime I felt well 'heated' I would bleed even more. So if I did have like half a day to a day without bleeding and had 'sex' or even thought about 'sex' I would start bleeding again.

I am in a great deal of shock. I have been bleeding for 8 weeks. I am 27 and always had regular mostly preditable periods since I was 10 years old. Never skipped a period, never had a "light" period. So I am freaking out, I have no insurance but did go to planned parenthood and was told it was most likely a hormonal imbalance. She put me on MORE BC so now I am taking 2 a day and NO changes have occured. It has been 2 weeks since I started the double BC and have been an emotional mess. I can't finish my papers for grad school because everytime I sit down I start crying. WTF.

It is appauling to me that they can give you a vaccine for any given flu within a few months of said flu being discovered but women cant get the answers they need. I have no children and no husband. If this were to go on for years I would probably just off myslef to be done with it. There is no point in living miserably.

I can't believe that I've never found this before.I'm 27 years old, and I've been bleeding on and off since the age of 15. 12 years of this. No doctor could figure it out when I was 20, so after that I've just not bothered anymore -  I got fed up with the tests, doctors not knowing what to do, or rather, not doing anything because it was probably just a hormonal thing blablabla. Problem is, my cycle has never been 100% anyways - I've had my period since I was 10, and I'm getting really fed up with this. I don't feel feminine, and I know my fiancé is really worried about me, after 5 years together we've hardly had sex over the last year because the bleeding won't stop! And every time we have had sex, it will start me off again. Which is another reason why I'm reluctant... It's a really horrible situation to be in - we're getting married in less than six months, and I'm worried that I'm just gonna be this HUGE disappointment because I might not be able to provide him with children and all that. I know he loves me, but the line has to be drawn somewhere right?I also have another problem that I haven't seen anyone else mention here - I've got a lot of bodyhair as well - so I obviously have too much testosterone as well. I don't know what to do - and I guess the only answer might be going to the doctor again, after nearly 8 years of trying to ignore everything... The thick, dark blood is just starting to get to me I suppose. It's really hard :( But I'm kind of glad in a way that I found this, I don't feel so alone anymore.

I just had to reply to this one, as I can really relate to a lot of what you're saying. It's painful to be in this situation, and I really hope they've figured out what it is for you. I hope maybe I can get my courage up and go back to see a doctor soon, as I would like to know why my body is doing this to me. I've been waiting 12 years almost before daring to see if anyone else had the same problem - and guess what, there are lots.. Hopefully doctors can figure this out..

Hello,

I like everyone here have had non stop bleeding for over 7 months. I have always been irregular and for the most part I would go at most 1 year without a period. (I have never been pregnant) But as of last year my period just would not stop. After 5 months I was so depressed and crying non stop so I decided to finally see a doctor. Of course like previous post they seem to think that it is normal. I was tested for various things and everything came out normal and no answers as to why I have been bleeding this long. I was so frustrated and upset that I left after spending over a month of going from one doctor to another. After another month went by and no change in my situation I decided to take a chance on a homeopathic remedy. I went to botanical and in tears explained my situation, they gave me a ray of hope and said that it sounded like I needed to regulate my hormones. They gave me a viel of metrorrhagies and told me to place it under my tongue every 3 to 4 hours. I have been taking it for a week and happy to say that I have stopped bleeding. Hope this helps anyone.
