Could I even become pregnant

I have very irregular periods if I have two to Three and year that is excessive for me. I have tried all all of the ways possible other than going to a dr to seek help that i can think of toget pregnant. We have not used protection in well over a year and i find it really hard to plan due to my irregular periods. I really wanted to get pregnant with out having to seek out perfessional help. Any suggestions would be great but i think the reason why i dont want to get perfessional help is becuase i am afraid that they are going to tell me that i wont be able to have children and that would crush me i know i could always adopt which i have no problem with but i really wanted to have a child of my own. It just hurts when i see all of these young kids and women in general that get pregnant and they dont want the baby and they take everything for granted. Any replies would be greatly appreciated i am loosing hope of ever having a child of my own.
