Hi! Last week I got very hard urinary tract infection. Now I don't feel any pain anymore but I'm still taking antibiotics. But now I'm worried because my period is late. I think that it is because of UTI but I'm not sure. Does anybody know could Uti delay your period? Thanks!

Yes, UTI can definitely delay your period. It's true. I know that because last year I got UTI and then my period was late for two weeks. My doctor explained to me that it is nothing strange. While you are ill, your body is fighting with infection and it can prevent ovulation.

Yes, you shouldn’t be worried. My girlfriend is going through the same thing just right now. Her period is late almost one whole month and I was even afraid that she could be pregnant (it is not like I don’t want children but we are just not ready yet) so I bought the test first time in my life. The next morning she did it and luckily it was negative.

Of course now we were worried about the other thing so she consulted her gynecologist. It turns out that she has mild UTI and that maybe she is not going to have her period at all this month.  There is one side effect though, she is very nervous so I hope that this condition will pass soon.

Can urinary tract infection delay your period for a whole month? Or is this a symptom of pregnancy?
