I had a CT scan done on my abdomen when I was about 1 week pregnant. I was totally freaked and read all the posts I could find. Being pro-life, there was never a question about whether I would abort the pregnancy - even facing a possibility of deformities. Actually, the fear that my child might be deformed or disabled because of something I had done only solidified my decision. I felt it would be wrong to punish my child for a problem I caused. I was scared that I hurt my child. At 7 weeks I started bleeding and feared I was having a miscarriage. An ultrasound in the Emergency Room revealed that the baby was doing fine but they couldn't tell what was causing the bleeding. I bled for over 2 weeks. A sonogram at 20 weeks revealed that the baby was developing at a normal pace. I never had a 3-D Ultrasound or Amniocentesis so we knew there was only so much you could see in the way of deformities or other potential problems. Our daughter was born on her due date. She'll be 2 weeks old tomorrow. She's perfectly healthy. Her brother and sisters adore her and I can't imagine our family without her.<3

can someone please help me? my daughter did not know she was pregnant - had a fall in the toilet and had to have a brain CT scan done. Now she is very worried that her baby will be affected. She must have been about 2-3 weeks into the pregnancy when the CT was done. Please somebody, tell us what to do.

I had a CT scan in the emergency room because they thought I might have a blood clot in my lungs (I didn't). They gave me a pregnancy test in the hospital which came back negative, but I found out a few days later that I was almost 4 weeks pregnant. I just had a miscarriage at almost 7 weeks. I don't know if the two are definitely related but I have heard that CT scans can cause a miscarriage. At the end of the day you need to have the scan if your life may be at risk, but understand that there are possible risks to your pregnancy if you do.
