Hello. I am a woman that is 54 years old and a few days ago, when I was on my routine checkup due to the history of kidney stones, my doctor told me that I probably have kidney cysts. I had problems urinating, so that was the reason I thought that I might have problems. Will I be needing surgery?

Well, that depends much of the size of the cyst. If the cyst is big, and it is an obstruction to normal kidney function, than it will need some sort of attention. Not necessarily a surgery. Cyst in general, and kidney cysts too, are not dangerous, they are benign tissues and many people go through their whole life without even knowing that they have them. Don't worry.
