I have been struggling on and off with cv for probably 8 months. I think it started after I got a yeast infection and did diflucan. The "yeast like" symptoms returned and I went to gyno and she said I had the excess of good bacteria and told me to do the baking soda. Well it went away, I think. But then I thought I had yeast again and treated that, blah blah. Here I am today and I am still struggling. The discharge is what really bugs me. I have a new sex partner and I'm worried he will notice. Just did my first sea salt bath and did preseed last night. Im praying this helps because I'm hoping to see my partner in the next two days. it's interesting one person said it was an allergy. I have bad allergies and they have escalated this past year. I have noticed after I eat sometimes I will get a surge of discharge. This seems crazy but I think there is a correlation. I think sugar and alcohol are bad as well but I'm not ready to give up wine either. Thank you everyone for your posts and I'm hoping for success. Btw preseed has parabens in it which I'm not psyched about putting in my vag but for now I will. I will keep you posted. Any recommendations to do prior to sex so the discharge isn't all crazy??

I keep the waterworks douche in my bathroom, so I tell him I need to take a shower and get it done very quickly and then use preseed afterwards for some lubrication.

So another option that I just discovered is douching with ozonated water. It is amazing and is working better than anything else I have tried, including the salt water and preseed. The ozonated water douche once or twice a day is all I need. It must be right after the water is ozonated. Ozonated water is antimicrobial and seems to be killing off the "good" bacterial overgrowth so my system can reset. I got an ozone generator on Amazon for $70 and this is by far the most effective solution for me.

Just wanted to say that I suffer from the same and I found that stopping using tampons pretty much cleared it up. It's a real culprit for this condition. During a flare I use baking soda douche. Extremely effective.

Thanks for the info with the sea salt. I too believe I have CV. I have been tested for everything in the book. There was nothing really wrong at first. But I had a thick white discharge for month after antibiotics from surgery. It would usually stay inside except when I had sex or a bowl movement. It looked like lotion and had no smell. One day it just started burning and I was treated repeatedly for yeast and the only test that came up positive was BV. Took antibiotics and thought I was good to go. But nope, the burn came back. I have lived with this for over 4 month now. The only time I feel somewhat normal is when I come on my period. After my period the burn comes back. The baking soda douche and sitzbath only gave me temporary relieve. Like 20-30 minutes after it came back. I had some Himalayan sea salt here that I bought a while back and never really used. I made some sea salt sole with it and mixed that with some bottled water and douched with it last night. Didn't do very much. So today I did a 20 minute sitzbath with the Himalayan sea salt and also half cup baking soda. Omg. That did the trick. After one hour I still felt pretty good. Not normal, but much better. It's been 6 hours now and it has not came back full blast. I also took one Excedrin. Just because I cut out coffee starting today. And I knew a headache was coming. Even if it does not cure it, maybe at least I found something that makes it easier to live with it. I will reach out to my doctor next week and see what he says. Maybe he will agree to test for CV or at least give me a referral to a obgyn. For what it's worth, at least we know we don't have some crazy STD. Stay positive! I know it's hard, I too have days I want to cry! But hopefully one day we can laugh about the time we had angry vagina syndrome. Fingers crossed for everyone.

Hi, I just wanted to see if you had an update on this? Did it stay gone? You are one of two posts I have seen that has claimed to have actually CURED this awful condition with a combination of a sugar-less (or candida-like) diet and I want to know if it’s possible that this actually cures it! Have you had any symptom returns? Did you have to go back to the no-sugar diet? I see clearly that I have had too much sugar in my diet and never will I return to that mistake! But I want to know if I can add some back (wine, with an otherwise healthy diet) without this condition returning? I’m really down about this. It has affected my sex life with my fiancé (even though he’s extremely supportive) that I’m contemplating breaking off the engagement. Please let me know! Thank you!!!

Also, did you cut out all food that CAN turn into sugar as well (per the Candida diet, as yeasts can feed on almost anything)? Or did you manage without the extreme version of this diet? When I look into this type of diet I’m whisked away into Candida forums and I get completely discouraged until after about 4 pages I snap out of it and remember I don’t have Candida. Then I’m back to square one searching for people who have cured CV specifically and which diet they followed. I have already ordered everything you suggested and I’m ready to get started. Just need to know what I can eat! I’ve been specifically diagnosed with CV but no follow up help or advice besides baking soda baths which have not worked long term. Thank you in advance!

Cytolytic vaginosis is caused by an overgrowth of lactobacillus. You need to eradicate the overgrowth using colloidal silver or another antimicrobial. Check out SIBO, or small intestinal bacterial overgrowth, and use the same treatment methods.

What was your sugar free plan ? What foods did you eat? What did you avoid?

So nice to find some good suggestions for what helped other people with CV. I have been dealing with this burning for over four years now and no doctor that I have been to claims this is what I have. I had to go to get outside testing which finally showed I had a high level of good bacteria. Can anybody tell me the best suggestions that worked for them? I’ve tried baking soda but I feel like it’s a temporary relief only!
