I am 45 years old and I have been in a car crash three weeks ago. My head is fine but my sternum is not. Moreover I had a problem with the damaged blood vessels because of the sternum fracture. Luckily, no major artery was damaged, only those in the rib cage and the one in the pec muscles. I just hope I will not have any further complications because of that.

It is a good thing that those arteries and not any other were damaged. Even though any blood vessel damage could be problematic in the healing process, those are periphery arteries and blood loss could not be serious. Still, the broken sternum itself is a tricky injury because of the breathing process, so try to be a good patient and listen to every doctor’s order if you want to be 100% healthy soon.
