I have heard that sun rays might be helpful when dealing with lack of the vitamin D. But aren’t the sun rays dangerous? I mean, I know that vitamin D insufficiency in children could be dealt with the appliance of that vitamin and that is it. Why are those sun rays needed at all?

Well, sun rays are important because they activate the production of vitamin D (transforming inactive form into active one). But you are right, sun rays today might be dangerous because of the ultraviolet rays and in that case perhaps it is really better for kids just to use vitamin D supplements.
