dark brown discharge but haven't started my period yet

im really confused a couple of weeks ago i got brown/red discharge but then it went back to normal white...i still have stomach cramps but i dont know why???

yes your period is started . because the first two years u have irregular periods . you may skip two or three months but after this also u don't have your period then u might alk to an elder.

the old blood comes out dark brown and yes that's your period . you may use a tampoon if u r going for swimimng . at frst u may feel pain but it will be okay afterwards . DON'T USE PAD WHEN U WILL BE GOING FOR SWIM BECAUSE IT MAY LEAK . i'm helping u because i too had the same problem and i'm having my period .
BE ALERT AND KEEP AN EXTRA PAD IN YUR POCKET . wish u luck . have a happy period and welcome to womenhood .

Hey girls! I'm 13 years old and yesterday I had a lot dark brown gooey discharge in my panties and I got veryyy scared. I thought I had something wrong with me, but about 3 hours later I had a flow of blood so I knew I had started my period. Don't worry girls I promise that you don't have something wrong (unless your sexually active). Most of y'all, welcome to woman hood!!! Hope I helped:)

This is probably your first period. This is almost exactly what happened to me. It's brown because your flow is light(since its the first time), and takes longer to get down to your panties, so by the time it gets there its old and brown. I would just wear a panty liner until your second period. Don't freak out if your second period doesn't come the next month, because you'll be irregular for a couple years after (so they say..). It's perfectly normal to not have a period each month. Your period is irregular for the first year or so(but it's normal if you are regular after the second or fifth or tenth).

hey I know this is a late response but i am 14 and i have had my period twice and ever right before i started my second period i got the brownish stuff and it wont go away i have had this stuff for one year. and i know you guys say don't worry but i have had it for OVER ONE YEAR!!!! im kinda scared PLEASE HELP!!!!!

 im 14 havent gotten my period, most of my friends have, and its really awkard when they ask to borrow a pad, when its there time of the month i have them of course, buts strange.For the past couple years ive gotten sticky clear discharge that stinks , kinda like french fries but gross ones, and its awful because other people can smell it too. Its embarrasing.So about three days ago,i couldnt sleep at night from a horrible stomach ache that must of been a period.. so Yesterday i started getting a light brown color discharge and was confused so i did some research but couldnt find anything.This morning i could tell it was getting darker but it wasnt very dark. i was thinking of wearing a pad to school but then i thought i wont. so i went to school and i was just hoping it wouldnt show thru my pants. as soon as i got home i checked down there to see it was alot darker ,almost black!its just a watering red color and then the dark brown on top.you can see it on both sides of my panties.I felt like it was damp down there but i didnt feel a cramp or anything since that one night. Is this my period or is it just about to start? should i start wearing the pads everyewhere? PLEASE HELP ME

This happens to me all of the time. Also a little bit pinkish. I heard its a pre-period - but I'm no doctor :P but I do feel it too... Idk all of the things you said are what a lot of girls go through, and it should be soon. I've been expecting it too,. :)
