What can you tell me about dealing with the pain because of the burnt arm? It was a second degree burn that happened because of my recklessness and even with creams and ointments I cannot get rid of the pain and itching. Is it safe for me to use painkillers? What would you do?

I would definitely call my doctor to consult him, but I assume that if the pain is that unbearable, you can take some medication for that. Just be careful about the choice of that painkiller, a doctor can help you with that. As for the burn itself, don’t rush it, be patient, it will pass in a while.
