I was a pretty good swimmer. I was able to swim some mighty long distances. My time was also good. I was forced to stop it because I sustained an arm injury some six months ago. Now I would like to start swimming again. What would you recommend for swimming after arm recovery?

First of all you have to get your doctor’s OK for starting with training again. Then you should begin very slowly. I would swim just for the fun of it for the first time if I were you. Then, next time you go to the pool you can try some strokes but only for a pool’s length or double that. If everything goes right you can start building your speed and endurance again. Take your time. Don’t rush things. You will be back on the track sooner than you think.
