My right hip socket ached and was uncomfortable to walk late in the day. I Had an x-ray that showed mild arthritis however the pain isn't like arthritis. A cortisone injection eased it somewhat for a week. Now I'm getting very intense sharp shooting pains down thru the groin area and less intense shooting pain.front and side of my thigh, making walking impossible. The pain gets worse through the day and is increased with walking, especially if I pivot or rotate my hip. I'm on coumadin due to DVT in my legs earlier this year so I am unable to take anti-inflamatories.
There is no lower back pain or tenderness.

i also seem to have a similer problem, every now and again its like my right hip gives way and then a sharp pain appears and with every movement it shoots what feels like around and under my bum and into the top of my thigh. often i cannot put pressure on to walk and have to stop what i am doing. i have seen my gp who sent me to a physio but typically when ever i have an appointment their is no pain so still unsure what the cause is.

Oh my, those symptoms sound very familiar to me- I had a fall and the end result was that I had a labrium/labral tear. Can I ask, does the pain increase after riding in a vehicle? As if your nerves in your hip have been all 'juggled' around?
