I agree. I had septoplasty surgery at 1245 this afternoon and it's now almost 5 p.m. So far there is zero pain (the IV for the anaesthetic hurt more than the surger) and I feel totally normal other than the packing, which I will remove tomorrow morning. My husband had the same surgery eight years ago with the same surgeon and had a steak for dinner the same night. Maybe it's a matter of degree and I am not in any way minimizing anyone's experience - the surgeon, the severity, the uniqueness of each of us comes into play - so I am only commenting on my procedure. No idea of any results, but the anxiety leading up to it was far worse than the actual deed. Everyone has a different set of symptom and different experiences, and mine was (so far) exceptionally easy.

Dear all, this is a super helpful post. My surgery was five days ago and included septoplasty, turbinate reduction, and widening of sinus passages, in maxillary, ethmoid, and frontal sinuses. The first day, but the anesthesia can certainly make you nauseous, pages no big deal, at least for me - whoops, that should say the pain was no big deal. The pain and discomfort started around date to when the anesthesia really wore off - sorry, that should say day two (I'm using voice to text and as a guest somehow can't go back and fix typos.). It is definitely a bit of a rough surgery, but if you stay ahead of the pain, it is doable. some people are really lucky enough to have a real walk in the park, which is certainly awesome for them. if your experience is more like mine, its really hard, but you can see little improvements in things like throat pain, back pain, head pain, and congestion every day. little by little i am starting to feel like myself again. i'm sure it will be worth it but it is certainly a bumpy road to recovery. i wish all very well - let yourself be a baby on this one. its a rough road but as I said, doable, at least if you are lucky enough not to have complications.

I had my deviated septum surgery over a year ago. I felt so hot all the time, threw up a huge amount of blood and was scared to death. Went to see ent for follow up, gave the spray, then next appt. gel. I tried the sprays , gels, etc. He says it looks good. I continue to tell him I still have nose bleeds and stuffiness , no response. If any trouble call me back. I am so fed up with it all. I still have the nose bleeds, stuffiness and headaches. I had a terrible experience with not waking up,I ended up in ICU til the next day. Did not get any answers from anyone. Just my ent said ow I see you had some trouble waking up. I am so disgusted with doctors today, I am now terrified of undergoing any surgery any more if needed. So what is to be done since I'm still having all these symptons. Is this normal, someone please tell me. I wouldn't recommend this surgery to anyone. I feel worse now since it was done.
