Sure, there is a direct correlation between drinking coffee and sleeping: coffee contains caffeine which is makes you more alert and more awake, of course. Energy drinks usually have caffeine in them exactly for this purpose. I don't drink coffee daily, not even weekly sometimes, but instead I just drink a cup when I'm feeling sleepy and tired but need to continue working, for example. So it's natural that you fall asleep a lot easier when you don't drink coffee. A friend of mine recently had to stop drinking coffee completely because it helps his stomach problem and all he complained about for days was how he could just fall asleep anytime.
