I was getting intimate with a guy (we had both been drinking prior that night) and he went down on me and it took me an unusually long amount of time to orgasm. When I gave him head it took a long time for him to orgasm also. After he finished he said, "sorry it took so long -- alcohol kinda makes it harder to finish". I was wondering if this was true?

Hi! Yes, it is true. Alcohol consumption has a number of effects on sexual intercourse. Alcohol is a depressant. After consumption, alcohol causes the body’s systems to slow down. Men's sexual behaviors can be affected dramatically by alcohol since alcohol inhibits testosterone production in the testes. Alcohol intoxication can decrease sexual arousal, decrease pleasureability and intensity of orgasm, and increased difficulty in attaining orgasm. In many women, alcohol increases sexual arousal and desire, although it does lower the physiological signs of arousal.
