Hi, I am 57 years old, and I had a hysterectomy five years ago. I went to my gynecologist yesterday, and she said that my bladder has dropped a little. It sounds really scary. Did it happen to anyone else?

Hi, it happened to my friend. She had a total hysterectomy ten years ago because she had a cancer. She recovered well, and the cancer never came back. However, a total hysterectomy removes the tissue that hold and support some other organs, and with time, those organs can start dropping. My friend says that it is exactly what happened to her. Her bladder dropped and it’s causing discomfort and some urinary problems. She will see a gynecologist on Monday and ask her if there is any surgery that can fix this complication. Whatever you decide to do, I wish you luck and successful recovery.
