the same thing is happening to me but my period is actually 2 weeks early and the whole thing is black and supppppe heavy. i can't make it though the night sleeping without changing my pad. i'm not on the pill or any meds. could this just be stress? even though ive been way more stress before

This happens to me too. I went to my OBGYN and she said it's just old blood. I'm on a birth control that allows me to have only one period every three months so theres just a little bit of it but it is black and super chuncky. I was real nervous too but nothing to worry about it.

In my case, my menstrual cycles had always been normal, and then suddenly i started getting really dark red, close to black periods for about 2 days and then my normal period with excessive cramping came. I went to the doctor and he ran some tests and told me this was happening cause my body was going through changes cause i had precancerous cells, so im glad i went and got it checked out in time before they became cancerous!!!

I am very worried. I woke up yesterday morning and when I went to the bathroom I noticed the blood and figured that I started my period (I am 15 and having been waiting on it for a while). Yesterday, I continued to use pads throughout the day and everything seemed fine, there was a little blackness to some of the blood, but looking it up online made me convinced that it was only old blood. Today, I tried using a tampon for the first time and it was fine until I pulled it out. When I pulled it out, it was completely black and it hurt to pull it out. I'm not sure that that is normal at all. What do I do?

This is my first month on Yaz and my period blood is black, I've had a brownish colour before but never black but after checking everywhere I think it's just because of the hormonal changes and likely stress due to final exams.
I switched from Ginette to Yaz and my period is right on time. It started out brownish but is black now.
I've had cramps but nothing too painful, oh yeah I'm 18.
Also Yaz works differently because the period is shortened to 4 days so it is a big change to my body.
I'm no longer as stressed about it but if it happens again everytime I'll go to a gynie.

Hi im 45 and i am also on the Nuvaring for the past 5 yrs and just the last few months i have black periods so i guess thats what it is going to the dr on monday so i guess i will find out what it really is so ill write back ladys .

Same here. I'm 16 and my period is on normal time, but usually I bleed VERY heavily and it's over in four days. This time it's very dark and not like regular blood at all. I haven't really been stressed and if I'm sick or were I'm not aware of it.

Hi . i had the same thing and thats why i was looking online and found this. but i amm still kinda stressed because i did not ahve my period for a year due to some un normal cells which i dont member the name but was a big scare and not to far from cervical cancer . i got it removed about 4 months ago. i just recently got myt period again about 17 days ago and now i just got my period again well this gross black stuff thats verrrry chunky(srry about the driscription) its realllly heavy and its been two days of it and reallly would love some feeed back on it so i may not have too goo to my doctors.please if someone noes something more would be GREATLY apprecatied ( if i dont hear anything back I going too doctors, Not that i dont trust anything you guys all say but just none of you guys mentioned anything about not haveing your period for a long time and then getting it again. )
