Did your gynecologist recommend any sort of treatment for endometriosis? I know there is no cure, but maybe there are ways for you to get rid of that pain. Did they tell you where the lining grew?

My sister also has endometriosis and when we heard that, I also went to see a gynecologist because I heard it is hereditary. However, I am ok.

I know how awful it must be for you because I remember my sister couldn’t get out of bed around her periods. She also had problems because she couldn’t have sex, as it hurt so much.

How long have you been experiencing your symptoms?

Hi, just wanted to get across my own story.

Im 17 and have just found out through a laproscopy that i have edometreosis, it started 8 months ago, where i was having really painful build ups to my periods, including servire pain up and down my legs and chest and painful, aching boobs. My periods where very light and lasted two days at max. I went to the doctors as the months got worse and was given pain killers for IBS. They made no difference! i then went back to the doctors for pain killers, which hardly numbed the pain i was going through. It is really worrying when my doctor gave me an information sheet in edometreosis which in bold letters said if un treated you may become infertile! Edometreosis doesnt run in my family either. I then went for a second opinion and was referred to a gynachologist who examined me and then referred me for my laprosocpy, it was a long wait but thankfully now they have burnt off the disease and left me only infertil on my left side. I know its a long process and very painful but the best thing to do is get a second opinion if you feel your doctor isnt helping! dont rule anything out, but know it will be ok over time! Roxy x
