This is much worse when I lie down for some reason and when I wake up I have to jump out of bed because it is so intense. Anyone experience this and found an answer?

You have something going on neurologically where your nerves are overstimulated and misfiring, causing you to feel electrical sensations throughout your body.  When you lie down, you may be pinching off a nerve in your back aggravating the problem.  Another thing that can cause electrical sensations is anxiety.  People will experience this type of sensation during an anxiety attack.  I don't know if either of these conditions is responsible for your discomfort, but you should go to the doctor to have it check out if it is not allowing you to sleep soundly or preventing you from doing things that you would normally do.

I've been to a neurologist and have had normal brain MRI, C-spine MRI, EMG and Evoked Potential testing. Yes, I have a history of anxiety (as well as my mom and brother) but proper medication has that under control. I have not had sudden onsets of panic attacks. Maybe I should get a thoracic MRI???
