I would be VERY CONCERNED about this because it can be a precursor sign of PCOS/PCOD Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome/Disease. It’s first sign is from eating far too many Carbohydrates or basically TOO MUCH SUGAR OR STARCH , which turns into sugar! This sets you up for Metabolic Syndrome, (pre-Diabetes), which precedes PCOS/PCOD. AN ENLARGED Clitoris is one of the symptoms, after too much Testosterone is being produced. Other symptoms are facial hair and other areas like chest and back, where a man would be growing hair and painful menstruation, etc.
I would definitely take her to see an Endocrinologist or an OB/GYN doctor who can look at her clitoris and run blood tests to evaluate her hormone status and also check for high blood sugar levels from a fasting blood draw. The OB/GYN would then refer her to an Endocrinologist if anything abnormal is found on the lab work. You’d be saving her a lifetime of misery and possible infertility by getting her in for evaluation ASAP! Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome/Disease is caused by poor diet, too much sugar and too many carbs that turn into sugar which in turn alter your hormone production!
Also, best interests are to see a professional Nutritional Therapist, like one from the Nutritional Therapy Association, who can really help you and your family learn how to eat a more healthy diet, if this is the underlying cause! She could also already be Type 2 Diabetic, so don’t wait around! There are some populations of women who also can have tendencies to have a large clitoris, compared to others, which can be completely normal, as well. Please take her to a doctor or call the NTA for a Nutritional Therapist in your area!
