Entex is a vasoconstrictor.  That is, it shrinks the blood vessels in the nose and sinues and gives relief to congestion.  An unfortunate side effect is that it also would shrink the blood vessels in the brain.  As a result, there were reported cases of stroke!   Thus, the drug was banned.

In my case, the side effects of nerves and edginess were real, and I did have some episodes as described in the side-effects list.  Note that this drug is in the same family as pseudofed from which methamphetimine can be produced.  Hence, the side effects can mimic bad side effects from meth to a lesser degree.
