For the last couple of days I have been been experiencing pain and swelling of my testicles and the discomfort would get severe as the day goes by. I realize this may be epydydimitis as I read about it when I was younger but the point is that I can’t find time to go and seea doc as I have so much work. I barely manage to eat. I am also writing this on my 20 min. lunch break. Can you tell me if epididymitis can be dangerous if not spotted immediately? Thx

Hello! I would advise you use your next lunch break and see a doctor. If left untreated, acute epididymitis can lead to a range of complications like chronic epididymitis, which represents a persistent inflammation, even when there is no bacterial infection: abscess, which is a ball of pus that may accumulate inside the epididymis or nearby structures and then you may need a surgery to drain the pus; destruction of the epididymis that can lead to infertility and spread of infection to any other organ or system of the body. I wouldn’t wait another minute if I were you! Good luck!
