So, I had sex with my boyfriend two nights ago and earlier this evening, in my sleep, I had a sharp pain in my abdomen (and I still have that pain). I try to urinate but my body is not letting me, though when I do try, I begin to bleed. Everytime I try to pee, the blood and the intense pain gets worse. I cannot sleep because of this.What can this be? Please help!

Hi DR,

You may have a urinary tract infection, they are common in women after having sex OR it could be as a result of having sex - some discomfort is also common.

If it continues, or you develop a fever, see your doctor.
