I have had a bells palsy several months ago and that is exactly how long the recovery lasted. Eyelid problems after bells palsy- -that is what is bothering me. Can you help me out here in this matter? I know the patch is an option, but I am interested in overall improvement. Will that happen? Or am I stuck with eye as it is now?

As most part of our skin, eyelids also have tiny muscles within them that move and enable them to perform their function properly. Since muscles are not working in bell’s palsy due to damaged nerves, eyelid cannot close the eye and leaves it dry, which is dangerous. You must always use artificial tears, ointments, gels and eye patch (for physical protection and sleep). As for how long will this last, that all depends on severity of your palsy. Your doctor is much more capable on answering that.

My eye became sensitive after Bellspalsy. It's been Six years since my recovery but my eye and ear is still sensitive and gets stressed out if I don't sleep well or spend long time at the computer or tv.
Recently I noticed I am getting severe pain while reading in the eye and back of the head(exactly behind the eye) .Visited an eye doctor who said it may be due to age so recommended glasses while reading, which didn't help at all. Vistited another Doctor and per his opinion it may be neve issue but wanted me to try some bi-focul glasses and see.
Wearing glasses is some thing new to me and not sure my pain relates to eye sight or nerve damage. From what I hear from my friends if you have eye sight you will have trouble reading, watching but don't get pain in the back. My pain feels like some one pulling my left eye from behind.
Also while reading I am not able to concentrate on words on my left side, I am kind of skidding on the words on left but right side able to focus.
If I stop reading pain eases in few mins, but prolonged reading causes pain to penatrate from head to neck and shoulders. This happens only on one eye which was the side I earlier had BellsPalsy. If I wear powerful reading glasses then the pain goes away in mins.
My other eye(right) is perfectly normal and didn't stress out or pain while watching computer or reading book.
Can some one suggest me whether I need to see a Neurologist or wearing some powerful reading glasses will reduce my pain?

I pulled my contact out of my eye and it hurt and felt like it was stuck. A day later I developed Bell's Palsy. Could the palsy be due to pulling the contact out of my eye?
