I have a family member who quit smoking 4 to 5 months ago, and I know for a fact that they have not smoked since. This person has been tested 3 times over that period and has tested positive on all tests. The only factor that I can see attributing to this is that this person is extremely overweight, and canabis is stored longest in fat cells. I want to know if this is true or any other reason you would know of.

It depends on what tests have been used. As far as I know, urine and blood tests may encounter cannabis presence up to three months. Urine tests are most commonly used because they are reliable but they are also cheap and accessible.
Blood tests are the most expensive and rarely used.

Hair tests are also very reliable and they may encounter cannabis for even a few years after the last intake. They may be a bit more expensive then urine test and if hair tests were used, then the results are obvious.
