You have to understand that sprained ankle is very common injury. As a matter of fact this is the most common injury of the bones and some statistics say that around 25 000 people experience this injury every day. I am not sure what might have caused you to feel dizzy when you sprained your ankle, but I know that in some cases when the pain is severe brain tries to unconscious you in order not to feel the pain. I think that you need to see your doctor regarding this in order to find out what is the main reason of this. I hope that this helped you in any way.
Best wishes,
Marco
