Feeling my Heart beat in back...

When I lay down, after some time I feel my heartbeat in my back and sometimes my legs. Any idea on what is causing this?

Hello there,

Unfortunately if you are feeling heart beat all over your body this is usually sign of Paranoia or even anxiety. Do you feel any other symptoms besides pulsating of your heart in your back?

If you have some other symptoms it would be good to write them down because based on this one symptom it is very hard to tell what is bothering you.

If you have strange thoughts and unusual fears than you are probably having anxiety or panic attack and sometimes this is manifested through the hearing of the beating of the heart and especially if the heart rate is increased. Either way it would be wise to check with your doctor. I hope that you will resolve this problem soon.

Making fun of a medical condition that's stressing these poor souls. Sad. It was painful to read that joke. Felt like being stuck in an elevator with Eddie Murphy or some other flatulence themed overused comedian. Hope you people have gotten past your anxieties.

Why would you reply to a med post like this? If you don't have a helpful answer then move along. Maybe the person asking the question put his/her symptoms into the best words they could use. I think you should seek help from a behavioral therapist.

Anxiety can cause many abnormal things with the body, from chest pain to sensations in places you normally do not feel much. Your pulse can speed and slow, you can have a feeling of overheating, and so on- these things can happen even if you are not feeling particularly anxious.
I lived with it untreated for years, and people tend not to go to the doctor out of fear of just being written off as irrational.

Under medication for anxiety. He wasn't making a joke. It is true.

You’re sensitive. There’s was nothing wrong with what was said. Yes it was unhelpful, however, that is not a cause to seek behavioral therapy. You shouldn’t shake your negative salt on people. Who are you to suggest extensive measure such as that after reading one thing, that was not even harmful, cruel, or threatening. Grow some balls. Don’t poison people with your word, use it for good.
