Your suspicions are correct, you have performance anxiety as it is your first time. My first time was not the same but I had premature ejaculation instead - ie come too fast.

lol omg this same thing happened to me last night, felt soo ashamed I did  foreplay and all an yet it still didnt get up. That same exact thing happened to me too!! It is a relief to read all the responses, same thing happened to me yesterday.
