My sister after having an ultrasound was found out to have FLUID in CUL DE SAC.
Because she was initially diagnosed to have UTI or infection of some sort in her stomach (urinalysis and fecalysis shows there is pus in it, platelet count dropping way below normal), the specialist treating her is a doctor who is expert in infections.. sorry don't know the right term. Question is for cases where there is fluid in cul de sac who is the right specialist for this? Maybe like OBGYN??
My sister is also vomiting and having diarrhea simultaneously. Intense pain in her lower stomach (the part which commonly hurts when you have menstruation) extending to her whole abdomen. IT's been a week since she is put on dextrose for hydration because she does not eat. She throws up even when drinking small amount of water.
Her medications include the never ending dextrose for hydration, metronidazole, omepron, cotrimoxazole later on changed to ciprobay upon result of the US.
Are those things she is experiencing symptoms of having fluid in cul de sac? Is this fluid dangerous? It scares us.. If it may help to add, my sister is single and never had a boyfriend since birth, as we have been told the diagnosis from her US is common to women with husband or who is in a relationship/has boyfriend. She is definitely none of those. She is 24 years old.
Are we getting the right treatment???
Are we on board with the right specialist??? Who is the right specalist for this?
