Oh my gosh this is so crazy, my husband has all of these same symptoms. He gets bloody noses, his sneezes smell horrible, he sometimes has stuff drip out of his nose and his eyes are always extremely red. He said it's been that way since he was about six. He always goes to the eye doctor but I've always wondered if it is a sinus infection but how could that be if he's had it since he was that young?

I have the same condition as the rest of you for years and I just want to share that finally I got rid of the foul smell coming from a coughing sneeze "the thing". I started taking 1000mg Vit C with "Rosehip" (take note) this year then after a few weeks, I have observed that the foul smell was gone whenever I do "the thing". I believe taking the vitamins cured me because that is the only new thing that I have ever done out of my routine. It's been 2 months now and there's no more foul smell whenever I do "the thing". Hope this info can help you others.

Try Nasal irrigation, you can purchase what is called a Neti Pot online or at your local wholistic market. Instructions are provided, essentially it is a saline nasal wash.

Yes this is called a netty pot (?) And my son swears by them to clear his nose and sinuses. Evidently non iodused salt should be used. You ever hear noisy people from sub continent clearing their throats so noisily? They learn to irrigate the sinuses and clear from young age every day. Cheers

I have the same problem not all my sneezes smell just the really big ones. And the smell lingers around as well. I've spoken to my doctor who gave me nose inhaler but that didn't work. So looks like we're stuck with it.

U might be right, coz when I sneez , the sneez comes out through my mouth, nothing comes out of my nose. I thought of sending the watery sneez for culture and sensitivity to know what bacteria iam holding in my mouth.

I have this issue intermittently. I can only describe the smell as the same smell I get when I smell a field full of rape seed, however, I had the smell today when there are no fields full of any crops.
The rape seed pollen is one of the worst for my hay fever. Is this related?

Add me to the list experiencing a musty honey/oatmeal/royal jelly odor when I sneeze hard (on and off for 5 years now). I cannot replicate it by blowing air hard through my mouth of nose, so I assume it comes from the bronchial tubes. oral hygiene doesn't help it, nor does irrigating the tonsil area with a water sprayer, nor neti pot with saline to the sinuses... I have assumed it came from dehydration from drinking black coffee (no sugar) and then not drinking enough water. I do also occasionally get tonsiliths when I am stressed, which is a more rancid smell (like blue cheese?), but this seems unrelated - the odor is very different from the sneeze. My current cure is to try my best to sneeze away from other people and/or cover my mouth with my sleeve... :)

I believe you are correct. This just happened to me and less than 2 mins later a chunk came out of my throat and it smelled real bad.

I suffered from this issue for quite some time, I would suggest getting checked for H Pylori and Candida Albicans which are Fungi and Bacteria causes the smell when sneezing. This is only one symptom there are others such as Depression, Anxiety, Mood swings, Lethargy, Brain fog to name a few, I would avoid antibotics to treat these as they can cause even further issues.
