Man i am freaking out an feel like i am dying every time i take my oxycontin or roxicodone. I discontinued the oxycontin because it was making me long for death. I feel nausea an it doesn't make me feel great anymore almost as if it isnt getting metabolized right? I am a 28 year old male who has a family history of gallbladder problems (Dad, Grandma, & Great Grandma) all had theirs removed. About a month ago i felt like i was dying for 7 days an when it happened i had severe aching in right side and a headache deep in the back of my head, felt really restless and felt unreal, developed a sinus infection that took my smell & taste away an caused incredible pressure in my ears an they are still ringing, i still have all these symptoms an its been over a month no. It happened after taking some percocet for my back. I had liver tests done an all was normal an a mri of my brain an it was normal, an a ultrasound a couple days ago which i haven't heard back from my family doc about. I have congentital stenosis, scoliosis, spondylosis, buldging at every lumbar disc and will have to rely on opioid meds for the rest of my life most likely and am wondering if that sounds like my gallbladder or liver possiby because i did have to take 12-17 norco 10mg per day for at least 2-3 years and 5 vicodin 10mg per day for the 7 years prior until i finally found a doc who knows norco/vicodin is for acute pain an not chronic pain. I haven't felt like myself in 4 years except the 1.5 years i stayed off the pain meds but couldn't live normal because of the pain. I had severe acid reflux an felt very weird for a whole year after discontinuing the norco but i still have the reflux, could the gallbladder be causing it? I lost alot of weight that helped it but it still hasn't gone away completely. Ground beef really upsets it while on pain meds but it still bothers me even when i was off the pain meds. I'm just freaking out that the oxycodone isn't making me feel like it was 4-5 months ago, i mean the euphoria side effect feels different, could the gallbladder be interfering with the mu, delta or kappa receptors??? I'm just afraid its my liver since it mimics gallbladder symptoms. Oh and i get these floaters in my right eye when i take my IR oxycodone, gallbladder related??? I feel so weird after eating a high fat meal that sometimes i have to pinch myself to see if i'm awake or sleeping! I literally wrote a letter a couple nights ago addressed to my parents in case i go to sleep an never wake up! This sh*t sucks so bad i wouldn't wish it on anybody except maybe terrorists. I have a consult with a surgeon next week an want to know some experts opinions. Sorry if things aren't in order but i've found these last few years i've been somebody i'm not..Any expert advice is welcomed but preferably an physician who knows an has seen patients with my symptoms. I just ate an feel like a mack truck hit me so i'm gonna lay down.

I feel the same way and don't know which way to go. I thought I was just going crazy, or dreaming, or dead! This condition is not for the faint at heart. I'm in a fog and all the regular lupus meds and pain meds that I have been on for 21 years do not help me in the "funk" nor the unpredictable pain that accompanies the onset.
I have tried all other modes such as prevacid, mylanta, zantac, etc...and they are not able to quiet it down. I have doubled over the arm of the couch and the granite island in the kitchen in order to apply reverse pressure to ease the severe pain. The key here is I am a Registered Nurse, who is out of town taking care of a very sick Nephew, and can't get to the doctor yet or to my hometown to get an appt. with a GI or Endocrinologist.
Please provide the information so that a plan of treatment can be put in place. Last nite, I should have gone to the ER.
Thanks. ! ! !
