I had to start taking Flagyl for tooth abscess that wouldn’t go away when treated with Cipro. And there is no doubt that within days of taking Flagyl the infection started to clear up, so that is definitely the bright side of the story.
On the other hand, I’ve been experiencing almost every side effect listed, except maybe the few worst ones: my entire body aches like I have flu, I feel exhausted, I have no appetite I have to force myself to eat something in order to take the medicine, bad diarrhea. And I still have days to go, I don’t know if I’ll make it if my infection has cleared up.

even though side effects of Flagyl can be overwhelming, especially if you get constant diarrhea and body aches, you have to finish the whole course of antibiotics in order to completely eliminate the infection. On most antibiotics you start feeling better within few days, but to completely exterminate the bacteria, it takes much longer.
To help you at least somewhat with issues with diarrhea, you can use over-the -counter probiotic supplement: it worked for me while I was on erythromycin.
