I'm happy to hear I'm not alone on this. Today is day two of being cold turkey. I know it's probably dangerous since I've been on around 200-250mg a day. Worse of not just orally but snorting them as well. Worst mistake of my life. Today is absolute hell and I almost wish my heart would just stop like some of the fetal side effects can be. But I have to be strong for my 5 year old daughter, and the fact that nobody could take her today breaks my heart because I hate letting her see me like this. I have Xanax and ambien to help. But it's not doing much good. Any other soothing advices? I'm not one to wish I were dead, but today's a much different story. But thank you for all your stories. It helps a lot to hear from others.

I was prescribed Fentanyl patches 100mcg and roxi's 30mg for chronic pain....i stopped cold turkey June 2010 and it was pure hell....i used klonopin and pot to get thru it.....klonopin stopped me from shaking so bad and i am not a pot smoker but a few hits a few times a day allowed me to eat and drink....even a sip of water would either give me diarrhea or make me throw up....its important you dont let yourself get dehydrated.....my daughter was 10 yrs old at the time.....nick jr, disney channel, or movies for the kiddo.  I know what you are going thru and it will not be easy but well worth it once you are on the other side.  It took me a full 2 or 3 months before I was back to my normal self.  During this time do not make any important decisions.  You are not only physically sick but your mind is not fully functioning.  Your opiate receptors in your brain are emptying and will take a little while for your brain to produce its own "feel good".  An antidepressant would help but dont know if you have insur or if you are able to share this with a dr without it affecting your daughter.  Seizures are also something you want to watch out for...I started having them again back to back after being fully detoxed. I am probably an isolated case since I had epilepsy from age 5-18 but still something to be aware of.  You are strong and you will make it!  So proud that you have decided to get off those things that are the devil in disguise :)
