Hello, there. It seems that when I am asleep, I gnash my teeth. I grinded off my teeth. My friend tells me this condition is known as bruxism. I will really need help with this. What should I do? I would like to keep my teeth if possible. Thanks for all replies.

Hello to you too. Your friend is right. This condition is called bruxism. Treatment depends on a cause and sometimes this is hard to determine. In some cases, this is caused by dental problem. It is usually bad alignment of upper and lower teeth. In that case, oral surgery is needed. Many people do this since they feel stressed or anxious. In that way psychotherapy and counseling is required. Antidepressants can also cause this. Caffeine and tobacco are provokers as well. You should consult with your dentist about this.
