ive had hair thinning for about a year. I was wondering if anyone knew how to fix this, post accutane.

take Bromelain for your ulcerative colitis, it has helped me tremendously to where i don't feel like i would have to kill myself because of the pain. Thanks for warning others about the dangers of Accutane, i wish i found out about it before taking it.

Hi Brandi, could you pls give some more details on your diet and methods to cure the hair loss post accutane ?
I am on the same boat , two years gone after the treatment of 5 months and hair still shading ... I used to have so much hair and long... Please help with some more info. Thank you so much .

My son is 21 and was on Accutane 40 mg daily. He took it for almost 5 months. During this time I spoke to his doctor about how I had noticed his hair becoming thinner and dry. The doctor was not worried and said that he was almost done with treatment and that the hair would become healthier after discontinuation. He has bee off about two months and now has a receding hair line and still thin hair.
Please anyone out there have more good stories about hair coming back and getting better? What kind of colon cleanse products work best? How do you get Accutane out of the liver?

I took accutane for a little over three weeks. This was well over three years ago. I noticed my hair really started falling out after I stopped taking the drug. After all this time, my hair is still very thin and falling out. I've notiiced one side is much thinner than the other side. Overall my hair is very thin, see through. I have to constantly keep it cut short. I regret taking this poison!!!

Iwas taking accutane for 7 months last year . And its been exactly a year since i stopped taking it . My hairloss started 3 months ago and it wont stop ive always had veryyyyu thick curly hair and i lost more than 1\2 of it and it just wont stop. My hair is thin now and i can see my scalp which isvery depressing . I cry myself to sleep overnight and im afraid of loosing all of my hair . Even tho i see regrowth and i see baby hairs it just wont stop falling. Everytime i touch my hair i loose 15 strands and when i brush it i loose more than 200. Its driving me crazy and im unhappy most of the time . I regret the day i took accutane even tho it cured my acne completely . But deep inside im hoping accutane is the reason. Because when i search hairfall all i see is alopecia .

Accutane is the medicine this is the bad medicine i have ever use and i have ever seen . Accutane is ruine my life now i am facing over hair loss problem. If doc know well about it he shouldn,t give it to me . What will i do plzz let me know if you find any info about it

Accutane is poison to our body's and doctors do not care. I took it years ago and like everyone else I started losing my beautiful thick long hair. I went back to the doctor who gave it to me several times to complain and find out how to stop the hair loss. The doctor said oh it will stop shedding in time and tried to convince me to take more accutane because i was not finished with my course of treatment, he said my skin was doing so well he didnt want me stop the poison accutane yet. I almost cursed him out before I left that room. Anyway to make a long story short. My hair shed for about a year while I searched online for a cure and went to so many doctors I lost track. One doctor finally told me the Accutane is causing the hair lost but something else in my body is going on. And we needed to find out what it is. He took some blood test and we figured out I was extremely anemic.iron level was a 7....Anemia causes massive hair loss. I started taking iron pills. Since the accutane made me really dry I started taking lots of oil, coconut oil. I found this girl on line who had accutane hair loss and she said she stopped her hair loss from eating plain yogurt. She said her natropath doctor told her to do it. Well I took my iron pills. ate lots of plain yogurt, no sugar in it, no fruit, and lots of coconut oil. Did this for about 5 months and my hair stopped shedding and started growing back. I also took a b - complex vitamin since they are good for stress. I was so stressed out and depressed watching my hair fall out. Hope this helps somebody. This event changed my life. I will never trust doctors again. I'm very health conscious now. and research any medicine before I take it . Even a simple pain killer.

So sorry to hear all of these stories about Accutane. I was on accurate 20 years ago. I did sign the agreement stating I would use birth control and read the side effects of hair loss, birth defects etc, but thought it would be a temporary hair loss. I was in the 6th month of treatment when I started losing a lot of hair and my scalp was inflamed. I assumed it was part of the other symptoms of dryness. Every part of my body was void of moisture including my hair, eyes, lips, skin, even vaginal dryness. Sadly my hair thinned while I was on accutane and it never grew back. I had very thick hair and now I have several bald patches where only skimpy hair will grow. When I mentioned my hair loss to the dermatologist that prescribed it, she denied the accutane was the cause. When my scalp stayed inflamed, I went to a different dermatologist and he gave me a topical antibiotic for my scalp and at least the scalp did heal but the damage was done. The hair folicals were permanently damaged. No one would admit it was the accurate but it was the only medication I was on and It was when I lost my hair. The accutane worked for my acne and after the treatment I had some scarring but never got a pimple again but my hair loss has been devastating. Not sure which one is worse. I actually use hair extensions now to add thickness to my hair. The hair I have left will grow long but it's so thin and there are patches of baldness. I am so self conscience if someone is sitting behind me or if I was at an open environment hair salon. God forbid if the wind blew, I feared it would expose my baldness. If I had known the hair loss would be permanent, I certainly would have opted for other acne treatments. Reading the stories on this site just confirms what I have known all along. Accurate cause permanent hair loss. At 26, this was devastating and at 46 it still is.

Hi,Im currently on low dosage accutane like 20mg with one day off.I had been on it for mostly one month.I noticed sone unbearable hair loss recently.My hair shedding thin when I was on third week of accutane.It will fall out a big strand even I touch them gently.They literally cover the bathroom floor.Im felt freak out.My hair is already thin.Now it is getting thinner.My hair structure eventually go weak and brittle.Only a week,I can see that there is a area starting to bald.I planned to cut my hair short tomorrow.I might stop taking it for a week and see what would happen.If the hair fall still bad ,I plan to stop it straightly.
