I have a small, elliptical shaped (~5mm long 2mm wide) hard white spot on the underside of the ridge of my penis glans. It's on the top side of my glans (ie. opposite side from my frenulum) and a little left of center tucked underneath the ridge.

When I first noticed it awhile ago it did not really feel rough or raised at all and wasn't really white but just looked like a lack of pigmentation in that spot. In my mind this was just a skin pigmentation thing that had developed (I'm in my mid-twenties) and as it was pretty subtle and wasn't raised or rough (felt smooth) I didn't think anything of it. However, over the last 3 months a portion of it has become much more 'bleached' white and if I run my thumb along the bottom of my ridge I can feel a little rough patch where the discoloration is.

To me, it most resembles almost a small patch of scar tissue but I have never had any sort of injury or irritation. It doesn't seem to be pearly penile papules to me (small spot, no visible structures). When it first started to feel rough my first worry was that it was a wart (which I guess I haven't ruled out) but it doesn't resemble any pictures I can find and I find it odd that it started for so long as what resembled depigmentation with no texture.

Any idea what this could be? I will likely try to go see a dermatologist if it persists but I wouldn't be able to for a few months and the development of a texture is really bugging me.

Might be a case of lichen planus....

The white patches suggest possible balanitis xerotica obliterans (BXO). Go to a doctor, preferably a dermatologist or urologist.
