Hi, I am a 16 years old boy. I am not circumcised and have a long and slightly tight foreskin, but I can fully retract my it. My glans is very sensitive and hurt to touch therefore my way of cleaning the glans is apply some soap and rub it with the foreskin. I am doing this for over 5 years and it is very effective. There is no smegma for most of the time. But recently, after changing a body wash, I found that a white coat/film, almost like a skin is forming on my glans, which I think is smegma. It stick to the glans very tightly and hard to wash away. I have this problem before but the film/coat can be removed easily after washing it and the glans will stay clean as long as I wash it everyday , but this time it just stay there and seems like becoming more serious(the coat becoming thicker). What should I do? Maybe this is an allergic reaction of using that brand of bodywash? Maybe I should use another brand of soap/bodywash? Thx

Btw, I don't think that is any kind if infection as after cleaning the white stuff away, the glans looks very healthy. No rash, red spot, no pain or whatever.

Hi Meow,

A gentle soap is the best thing to use to wash your glans. Be careful of body washes as they often can dry out the skin.

Yes, your glans will be very sensitive at first.  You will get used to it in time.

Thank you for the answer. Here is the update, today when I take a shower I managed to wash some of it away, about half of it. I start to wonder is that skin or smegma because first, it is washed of as a whole piece, like you peel of a skin. And second, I managed to peel off a small piece when the glans is half dry. I let it dry , the looks and texture of it is very similar to a skin. And as usual, the glans under is looks fine after getting rid of the white stuff. Do you think it is smegma or other things, if that it is not smegma, what is that and what might be the cause? Thx.

It doesn't sound like smegma.

Are you using the body wash? Try another soap for a few days and see what happens.

Update: Indeed that is problem of the bodywash, after I change to another bodywash, all of the white stuff can be easily removed. I will remember not to use that bodywash again. Thx
