Hello! My sister had lumpectomy. Quarter of her breast was removed due to breast cancer. She also had radiation after the surgery since her doctor told her it could lower the risk of the cancer coming back. That was really difficult time for the whole family but especially for her. Thank God, she recovered soon and her results are fine now. Is it possible to have restorative breast surgery after lumpectomy?

Hello! Completely or partially removal of a breast always presents great physical and emotional stress for women. Reconstruction breast surgery can also be done after lumpectomy especially where the shape of the breast is significantly distorted. Options for post-lumpectomy reconstruction include implant or autogenous reconstruction where the reconstruction is performed with the patient's own tissue. Your sister’s plastic surgeon will discuss which option will be the best for her.
